Description

this was taken in the ruins of a muslim mosque built upon the ruins of a hindu temple. i forget what it was called, but it was not far outside new delhi, india.

this guy barely moved for the twenty minutes i was wandering around the main courtyard looking at things.

i had a hell of a time deciding where to crop it. any suggestions would be appreciated, and i still have the original pic so i might change it. this is one of my favorite pictures i took in india. the rest of the ruined wall he is sitting on is rather interesting in shape and texture, so zoomed out looked pretty good i thought... but the pic is about the guy, so i cropped it down to just him. then i wasn't sure whether to just have his upper body and face, or include the whole body... but i thought the way he was sitting was part of the pic, so i left it.

because of the background, in B&W there wasn't much contrast in this pic, except for his dark pants, which then drew the eye. which isn't great, so i left it in color. once when i was messing with curves i got good B&W contrast, but it was a bit too harsh...

oh, and you may not think that this is "urban & rural - street" photography, but the description for the category includes "people and things found while walking around in public places" so there you go.
