Hylas and the Swimming Pool

Description

Final piece for a second semester of an art class I sucked at 18 months ago. Proof I can't draw figures.

Assignment was to take a famous painting and change the setting. I took Hylas and the Nymphs by John William Waterhouse ([link]). Two pieces of paper taped together, which is why there is the seam and the weird shape.

My professor hated it. Or maybe I just got a bad grade because he thought the empty faced lady in the middle meant I was too lazy to finish it. I left it just because I liked it like that.

This is pretty bad. I like the original Waterhouse picture though.

Vine charcoal.
