i've finally found a solution to the waiting which apophysis requires you to do - every thing you do takes 3, 5, 30 seconds of waiting for the changes to render. i used to try reading magazines etc, but even 30 seconds sometimes isn't long enough to avoid getting irritated by having to switch back and forth. solution: work. my job (tagging WordNet senses in the american national corpus) doesn't require more than a few seconds of attention span to get measurable, useful work done. it's perfect for accompanying apophysis. so i might be posting more fractals.

also: messing around with journal css styles instead of working.
